We all have pretty mixed feelings for 2020, ourselves including. However, 2020 for Herrick Creek was a momentous year and we wanted to share those wins with you.Â
We're really excited that our first batches of Nine Fathoms Gin and Smokin' Right Rear Moonshine are available. Our first batch of Original Moonshine will be available soon as well!

We've named it "Biscuits" because the early records of the young moose calves in Wellington mention their love for the stable worker's biscuits. Batch 4 is New Zealand Malt Grain Whisky, made from 50% Corn, 25% Wheat, 25% Barley - all malted.
Yesterday afternoon we barrelled our first batch of whisky. It's a pretty unique mash bill and I'm glad it came out of the still quite unique as well.Â
What a great month it's been here! We've been hard at work on Batch #1!Â
In the next few weeks we will run the current batch through the still and get started on the second half of the batch. By the end of June we will fill that first barrel - quite a bit of work! Then, we get to do it a second time.Â
Today we're officially announcing the Herrick Creek Distillery brand to the world! It was on this day, 110 year ago, that the tale of New Zealand moose began at Supper Cove.Â

We are only a couple weeks away from starting production at the distillery. All the papers have been signed and we're just waiting on the final approvals now.Â
With that said, our first batch of product won't be potable at all - instead, we are going to start by making basic sanitising solution for those in need.Â
